Colonel Kobus Roelofse

Colonel Kobus Roelofse is a senior police officer attached to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), commonly known as the Hawks. His testimony before the commission placed him on a team seconded to the Investigative Directorate of the National Prosecuting Authority (now IDAC), with a special assignment to investigate matters relating to state-owned enterprises. Alongside Captain McLean, he also probed the Crime Intelligence Division, including the Secret Services account, work that began in 2011 and brought him into contact with Crime Intelligence officials who supplied information. His testimony touched on concerns about suspects accessing documents prematurely, and he was questioned about discussions with Advocate Johnson and Mr Leask, as well as the sharing of a docket implicating General Khan in an assault.
