Senior police officer referred to Mogotsi by Matlala

A senior police officer whose identity was referred to Brown Mogotsi by Mr Matlala, this officer is central to testimony about an alleged plot within the SAPS to remove Major-General Khan. According to Mogotsi’s account, the officer shared information about a scheme to craft a negative finding in Khan’s disciplinary hearing, described a briefing in KwaZulu-Natal on how to address the situation, and claimed Generals Khumalo and Mkhwanazi were using him to give false evidence against Khan. Mogotsi testified that the officer was recorded relaying instructions about the plot and that the intention was to employ him as a Section 204 witness against both Khumalo and Mkhwanazi. The officer reportedly sought a promotion to full colonel and a bag of cash—though Mogotsi disputed whether cash was explicitly mentioned—in exchange for changing his story.
