Mr Mtetwa

Mr Mtetwa is a figure who emerged in testimony before the commission through the account of Warrant Officer Nkosi, describing an interaction during a police operation. According to that testimony, Mtetwa approached the officer and volunteered information, stating he was the one who had called a person named Patrick, and that he had contacted a General to question whether the police had the right to be in the house and whether they held a warrant of arrest for the person inside. Speaking in Zulu, he referred to the individual in township vernacular as an "old friend" or "old bra," and Nkosi noted that Mtetwa offered this information of his own volition, without being asked. The officer observed that the two appeared to be friends, given the familiarity of the first-name address.
