Brigadier Letogo
Brigadier Letogo is a South African Police Service officer whose role in the transmission of a directive concerning the deactivation of the Police Kill Team Task Team (PKTT) came under scrutiny during the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. According to testimony, Letogo acted as a conduit for communication between the National Commissioner and senior officials, relaying a directive from Minister Senzo Mchunu. Lieutenant General Sibiya testified that on 3 January 2025, Letogo communicated Mchunu's decision to him and other officials, directing the Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection to implement the PKTT's deactivation and submit a close-out report. Letogo was also described as having sent letters to Deputy National Commissioners to inform them of the directive.
