Meldon Qamu Mkhatshwa

Captain Meldon Qamu Mkhatshwa is a South African Police Service ballistic analyst who was deployed from his office to assist the Political Killing Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal. At the Madlanga Commission, Mkhatshwa gave testimony about his work comparing ballistics evidence from the Bramley case against other cases. He stated that he had received a written request on 3 June to examine Bramley exhibits alongside five other specified cases, and that he conducted his analyses using test results previously performed by another officer, Captain Makgotloe. Commission counsel questioned him about the correct case numbers and the scope of his comparisons, noting that his report referenced a specific case number for Bramley.
