Sipho Nkomo

Sipho Nkomo is a senior officer in the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) whose conduct came under scrutiny during the commission’s proceedings. At the time of his appointment to the Bid Evaluation Committee for a departmental tender, he was identified as one of two TMPD representatives on that panel. He was later appointed as acting Deputy Commissioner of Specialised Services, a role in which he was described as having been selected by the Chief of Police for his position. Nkomo also faced criticism from a witness who alleged that he and a colleague had unceremoniously removed the witness’s VIP security detail without providing a full explanation.
