Dumisani Pompi (Mashaba's supervisor)

Dumisani Pompi, a supervisor to Chief Mashaba within the SAPS, testified about the circumstances surrounding Mashaba’s arrest by the Hawks. He described how he had called Mashaba for a meeting that morning, only to be told Mashaba was busy, and later learned of the arrest through Deputy Director Sekhonyane. Pompi confirmed he had not placed Mashaba on duty for the activity he was performing at the time, nor had Mashaba informed him about it. He also recounted discussions with Chief Director Mayisela about when to provide a statement, and his view that the responsible SAPS official would need to resolve the misunderstanding with the General from Intelligence.
