Major General Prince Mokotedi

Major General Prince Mokotedi is a former senior South African Police Service officer whose conduct came under scrutiny during the State Capture era. He was accused of having been unlawfully appointed as head of the DPCI in Gauteng, and of leading a group of about 30 police officials who targeted Mr O'Sullivan and his organisation, Forensics for Justice. A DPCI judge found him guilty of seriously infringing Mr O'Sullivan's rights, and raised concerns that Mokotedi may have harboured an ulterior motive for reopening cold cases. His failure to obtain a security clearance for nearly three years was deemed unlawful, as was his permanent appointment under the circumstances. Rather than being dismissed, he was reportedly moved sideways from the DPCI into the SAPS, allegedly with the agreement of Generals Lebeya and Masemola.
