Witness N

Witness N is a member of the investigating team in the Fort Hare matter, whose identity was protected during the proceedings due to concerns that disclosing her name or image could inadvertently expose her colleagues and the broader investigation. She was approached to look into a complaint from members of the public about a senior investigator at IDAC in the Eastern Cape, and after investigating, she concluded the concerns warranted further inquiry. Her testimony also touched on allegations involving Mr Bellochun, whom she described as extorting a "protection fee" from an individual, based on bank statements showing regular, exorbitant payments. She faced questions about how she marked those transactions, following discussions with Mr Asif Muhammad.
