Chief Perumal

Chief Perumal, also referred to as Dylan Perumal, served as the chief investigator within the investigative unit scrutinised by the Madlanga Commission. His role placed him at the centre of the unit's daily operations, with witnesses describing him as the lead figure who guided taskings and activities and to whom investigators reported for direction. The commission's attention, however, focused heavily on his handling of a specific affidavit connected to Fadiel Adams, with questions raised about the circumstances under which it was taken—including the unusual combination of a commissioner's oath and a Cape Town stamp while the process allegedly occurred in Musina. Perumal was also identified as one of the individuals who compiled requirements for the National Commissioner's interview, and his potential involvement in broader investigative actions was noted.
