Advocate Johnson

Advocate Andrea Johnson served as the Investigating Director of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), where she oversaw matters including the criminal prosecution of the Crime Intelligence Seven and the EMPD drug enforcement and criminal-records vetting case. During the commission, her testimony indicated that some messages from a phone were tampered with. She stated that she had been relieved of her responsibilities in that particular matter, though questions were raised about whether she stepped aside voluntarily or was removed. Johnson was educated in KwaZulu-Natal, studied at the University of Durban Westville, completed a diploma in criminal justice and forensic auditing part-time at the University of Johannesburg, and attended a prosecutor course in 1997.
